Inventory Assessment MNS’s ability to monitor and manage your
network environment is based on an accurate and up-to-date inventory of devices
and circuits. With your assistance, MNS undertakes an inventory in order to
ascertain a complete understanding of the environment MNS is expected to
monitor.

Migration/Transition A documented process is used to integrate the
customer’s network devices and circuits into MNS’s network management tools.
With your cooperation and support, MNS will accomplish this integration without
causing disruption to your operations.

Network Monitoring As an MNS network management customer, you gain
the reliable, scalable architecture of MNS’s Network Operations Center (NOC)
staffed by experienced engineers. From our NOC your network devices (routers,
switches, channel service units/digital service units (CSUs/DSUs) and circuits
are monitored. We use best-in-class monitoring tools such as CiscoWorks and
Solar Winds and MNS custom applications for problem management. If issues
arise, they are swiftly handled using established problem management and
escalation procedures.
Basic Availability Reporting
One of the key advantages of network management is optimal availability—MNS has
the resources to ensure you remain up and running. With your cooperation, MNS
becomes aware of the availability levels your service provider(s) has
agreed-upon and assured to you in writing (your Service Level Agreement, or
SLA). Since accountability is a critical factor, MNS will track the
availability of your network devices and circuits so that actual availability
can be compared to the SLA agreed upon.

engineers. Management services include basic configuration, performance
management, and security management with end-to-end device fault management—all
the necessary components to maximize network uptime and performance while

a. Configuration Management

requires considerable attention to detail. MNS manages your network

circumstance. We help manage moves, adds, and changes so that the entire

b. Performance Management
MNS characterizes performance management as the
proactive elimination of bottlenecks. We use various tools to collect, analyze
and report data on a standard suite of metrics related to network performance,
including CPU utilization, memory utilization, bandwidth utilization, line
errors and latency. This is done in near real-time (up to the last poll), and
historically, in order to provide complete performance picture
